Serbia and Kazakhstan want to promote cooperation
BELGRADE - Serbian Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic met with Kazakh Ambassador to Serbia Nurbah Rustemov Friday to discuss improving cooperation between Serbia and Kazakhstan in the area of international legal assistance.
According to a release from the Serbian Ministry of Justice, Selakovic and Rustemov agreed that Kazakhstan and Serbia were two traditionally friendly countries, but it was necessary to intensify the economic and legal aspects of cooperation.
Although Kazakhstan aspires to becoming part of European international conventions, Ambassador Rustemov, accredited to Serbia on a non-residential basis, stressed the willingness of Kazakhstan to improve international legal cooperation with Serbia through bilateral agreements, the release said.
Selakovic expressed Serbia's gratitude to Kazakhstan for its clear and unambiguous position of not recognizing the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo.
Speaking about reforms implemented by Serbia, Selakovic pointed out that the establishment of a strong economic relationship could also be a step forward towards setting up an embassy of Kazakhstan in Belgrade.
