Oprea: In my activity, and I have been in 6 governments, my name has never been linked to any scandal
National Union for Romania's Progress (UNPR) Chairman Gabriel Oprea in Poiana Brasov on Saturday said, in reply to a question referring to Marian Vanghelie's statement that he had room in his cell for Ponta and Oprea, that during his entire political activity his name "has never been linked to any scandal," because he is a jurist, a military, and he has sought to observe the law.

"I would like you to check if Gabriel Oprea has ever been... maybe I have also been displeased... I have sought to carry out my political project, UNPR, for national stability, (...) I have sought not to offend anyone and I have sought to observe the law. In general, during my entire political activity, and I have been in around six governments, my name has never been linked to any scandal. Why? Because I have sought to observe the law, I am a jurist, I am a military, and this is what I also want to instill here, to the youth, to observe the law. I have never mentioned any name (...) I don't believe in political enmity, I believe maybe in a political competition and we never voice opinions regarding the justice matter. We strengthen, support justice and we seek that everyone observe the law," Gabriel Oprea said.
When asked how the UNPR will vote in the case of Senator Dan Sova, in the case of whom the prosecutors asked the Senate to approve the detention and preventive arrest, Gabriel Oprea said that "UNPR has always respected justice."
The UNPR Chairman together with representatives of the party leadership participated in Poiana Brasov on Saturday in the national meeting of the youth organisation of the National Union for Romania's Progress. AGERPRES
