Leaders of ruling coalition in Vojvodina will keep meeting
NOVI SAD - The Democratic Party (DS), League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) and Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM), which form the ruling coalition in the parliament of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, dicussed on Monday the future of the coalition.
The meeting between the DS leader Bojan Pajtic and his counterparts from the LSV and SVM, Nenad Canak and Istvan Pastor, was the third such event in the last month, and it was constructive and resulted in an agreement to continue the talks, the DS committee for Vojvodina has stated.
The meetings were started at Canak's request, and the first one was preceded by the removal of Vojvodinasume director Marta Takac, who is a member of the SVM, which deepened the conflict between the LSV and SVM.
Officials of the largest party in the coalition, the DS, stressed that they did not wish to take sides and wanted to keep the coalition with the LSV and SVM going.
After the first meeting, Canak told Tanjug that the three leaders had agreed to refuse to give any statements about the meetings until an agreement was reached.
