Vucic meets with European Parliament delegation

BELGRADE - The Serbian government is resolved to achieve the goals of the European integration process, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday during a meeting with a European Parliament delegation headed by Eduard Kukan.

Vucic briefed the guests on the reforms that should contribute to the country's progress on the path towards the EU and improve the investment climate, the government press office said in a statement.

He also briefed the delegation on Serbia's regional cooperation and the infrastructure projects the country is proposing to connect the Western Balkan countries.

"We will do everything to protect the political and economic stability of the country and the region," the Serbian prime minister said.

Kukan said that he is very appreciative of the commitment of the government and the prime minister himself to the European integration process, as well as of the contribution to progress in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

The members of the European Parliament delegation congratulated Serbia on the courageous economic moves, offering assistance in the fight against corruption.

The MEPs and the Serbian prime minister also discussed the position of national minorities in Serbia, the statement said.
