Serbia needs investments directed at global market
VIENNA - Serbian Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic called on Austrian businessmen on Tuesday to invest in Serbia's sectors oriented to regional and global markets.
Aside from the incentives that Serbia offers, the investors would also have a privileged access to markets comprising around 800 million citizens in the countries with which Serbia has signed free trade agreements, Vujovic told Austrian businessmen at the Serbia-Austria Business Forum in Vienna.
Vujovic informed the Austrian businessmen about the reforms that the Serbian government is carrying out and the country's macroeconomic environment.
"We expect that the macroeconomic reforms will be backed by structure loans for restructuring of public enterprises and large economic systems that may connect Serbia with the world," Vujovic said.
He underlined that it is important for Serbia to persevere in carrying out reforms, particularly now when their implementation is difficult, and for its domestic companies with good perspective to become successful and competitive.
