Predrag Gosta becomes member of NARAS

BELGRADE - Famous Serbian conductor and harpsichord player Predrag Gosta has become a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), which gives out the Grammy Award.

Gosta joined as a member with voting rights because of his long involvement in the audio production industry as a performer and producer, the New Belgrade Opera said, where Gosta works as art director.

He is one of the most important Serbian conductors of the younger generation. He debuted with the London Symphony Orchestra as the first conductor from the former Yugoslavia.

He has lived in the US for 17 years and is in charge of New Trinity Baroque, an orchestra that uses historical instruments.

In Serbia, he is the art director of the Early Music Festival, but he also performs as the conductor of the New Symphony Orchestra Makris.
