Simona Halep, nominated for WTA Shot of the Month

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep, ranked #3 in the world, was nominated for the WTA Shot of the Month for an exchange in the match against Carla Suarez Navarro in the Indian Wells tournament won by the Romanian.

The nominated shot took place in the third set, at 5-7, 6-1, 30-0 for Simona, who managed to score a splendid point. Halep won the quarterfinals match against the Spaniard in three sets, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1.

Among the proposals made by the WTA is also an exchange between Serena Williams and Simona Halep, in the quarterfinals of the Miami tournament, at 6-2, 2-2, 15-15, point won by the American, the world leader winning the match by 6-2, 4-6, 7-5.

Another nomination targets a successful lob by Agnieszka Radwanska in the match against Irina Begu, in the third round of the Miami Open, match won by the Polish player by 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.

One of Italian player Francesca Schiavone's shots in Monterrey and another shot by Sabine Lisicki at Indian Wells were also nominated.

The winner will be announced on April 10. AGERPRES
