Vucic: Algeria can always count on our friendship
BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic conferred on Thursday with newly-appointed Algerian Ambassador to Serbia Abdelhamid Chebchoub and expressed hope that the two countries' good relations will be promoted even further during his term of office.
Vucic pointed to the great potentials for fostering economic cooperation, particularly in the fields of agriculture, infrastructure, defence industry and hydrotechnics.
"We would like to promote our relations with the entire Arab world, with Algeria in particular, and you can always count on our friendship," the Serbian prime minister underlined.
We see Serbia as a very important political and economic partner, Ambassador Chebchoub underlined.
He noted that Algeria support Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty and does not recognize the independence of Kosovo-Metohija (which was unilaterally proclaimed by ethnic Albanians in 2008).
Vucic and Chebchoub discussed the hotspots in the African continent, stressing the need for unification of the international community in the fight against terrorism, the Serbian government's press office released in a statement.
