Swiss ballet company closes 12th Belgrade Dance Festival

BELGRADE - The year 2015's edition of Belgrade Dance Festival (BDF) was closed by performances of two ballet titles from Ballet Basel - Tempus Fugit and Flockwork - on Thursday evening.

Most highly sought European choreographers Johan Inger and Alexander Ekman and the excellent and innovative company from the Swiss city of Basel received standing ovations from the Belgrade audience after both performances.

From March 23 to April 9, the BDF's 12th edition presented the audience with an attractive selection of titles from the world scene, including works by choreographers Jiri Kylian, Hofesh Shechter, Anton Lachky and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.

The audience in Belgrade had the chance to watch performances of 13 companies from 11 countries - Great Britain, Israel, Switzerland, Germany, the United States, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Belgium and France.

BDF was organized in cooperation with the EU Delegation to Serbia for the third consecutive year, and this year's edition was held under the auspices of the Serbian Ministry of Culture.
