Erdogan,Gojkovic: Clear interest in furthering relations
ANKARA - Serbia and Turkey have a clear interest in furthering mutual relations in different fields, Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in Ankara on Sunday.
Gojkovic and Erdogan said there is room for improvements in economic cooperation between the two countries, both in terms of trade and infrastructure.
The Turkish president said his country is interested in investing in Serbia, adding that possibilities for investments will be discussed with Turkish businessmen as well.
Gojkovic said the Serbian Parliament has adopted a number of laws aimed at improving conditions for investment, and added Serbia wants Turkey to make investments across the country.
Gojkovic and Erdogan also discussed energy security in the region, the office of the Serbian parliament speaker released.
COOPERATION PROTOCOL BTW SERBIAN,TURKISH PARLIAMENTS SIGNED
Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic and her Turkish counterpart Cemil Çiçek signed a protocol on cooperation between the two countries' parliaments in Ankara on Sunday.
The protocol was inked after talks, and the interlocutors agreed that it would strengthen inter-parliamentary dialogue, exchange of information and views on bilateral, regional and international issues.
Gojkovic said on the occasion that the document will foster cooperation between parliamentary friendship groups, as well as working bodies in the field of European integrations, economy and education.
Çiçek pointed out that regional stability is of great importance for Turkey, adding that Serbia has a key role for the stability, the office of the Serbian parliament speaker released.
