Turkey to conduct major military exercise in the Aegean and Mediterranean this month
Turkey will conduct an air and naval exercise named "Blue Homeland 2025" between January 7 and 16 in parts of the Aegean Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea.
According to the spokesperson for the Turkish Ministry of Defense, Rear Admiral Zeki Akturk, the drills will involve a total of 87 surface vessels, 7 submarines, 7 unmanned naval vehicles, 31 aircraft, 17 helicopters, 28 unmanned aerial vehicles and 20,000 personnel. This includes members of underwater attack and underwater defense teams.
As reported by the ERT correspondent in Turkey, the Distinguished Visitors' Day activities for the exercise will take place on January 9 at the Aksaz Naval Base, located across from Rhodes.
