Report on rolling stock overhaul forwarded to MUP
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic stated on Friday that the report received from the Anti Corruption Council about the embezzlement of EUR 65 million during the overhaul of rolling stocks of the Serbian Railways was immediately forwarded to the Ministry of the Interior (MUP).
"This case is in the competence of the MUP, and I offered all forms of the ministry's cooperation," the minister told reporters ahead of the conference on railway infrastructure in the region.
The Anti Corruption Council said that the overhaul of Serbian Railways rolling stocks caused a damage of around EUR 65 million.
The Council stated earlier that in the last 10 years around RSD 10 billion (around EUR 100 million) were spent on procurement and overhaul of rolling stocks.
The Council overviewed the financing of the rolling stock renovation from 2009 to 2014, and the project of repair and modification of 1000 EAS rolling stocks from 2005 to 2008.
