Kenya's Sang and Ethiopia's Adugna win Belgrade Marathon

BELGRAD- Kenya's Silas Sang and Ethiopia's Abebu Gelean Adugna are the winners of the 28th Belgrade Marathon which gathered around 25,000 runners for a race along the streets of the Serbian capital.

Sang scored time of 2:14.43, leaving behind his compatriots Andrew Kiprop (2:16.42) and Julius Korir (2:19.46), while Adugna finished the 42,195-metre race with the time 2:33.12, beating her compatriots Jemla Wortesa (2:34.24) and Meseret Gebra Dekebo (2:43.21).

In the previously held semi-marathon race, the title of the winners went to members of the Serbian team Ana Subotic and Velimir Bojovic.

The semi-marathon and marathon race gathered 4,484 racers from 56 countries.

Over 20,000 people took part in the five-kilometre Race of Pleasure, and this year's Belgrade Marathon for the first time featured a special race for pets.
