Tenaris inaugurates investment worth 14 million dollars in Zalau

Tenaris, a leading supplier of tubes, reconfirmed its interest for Romania through a new investment of 14 million dollars into a training centre for its 1,700 employees, inaugurated on Saturday in Zalau.

Tenaris CEO Paolo Rocca, Prime Minister Victor Ponta, Transport Minister Ioan Rus, and local and county authorities attended the event.

"Tenaris is exactly the type of company any country, any local community, any government wants; because it means substantial investments on long and medium term, it means jobs ? more than 1,000 jobs in Zalau only, it means modern technology and modern corporate thinking; it also adds something much needed in Romania, namely the educational and professional training side. Because this means getting too the next level of investments in Romania,' the prime minister said on the occasion.

Tenaris area manager Michele Della Briotta mentioned the training centre's role as a 'bridge' to the local community. 'We will organized here festivities we wish to share with the local community, educational, entertainment and cultural events,' he said.

Rocca underlined that Tenaris has overall invested 370 million dollars in Romania and it got the support of local authorities everywhere in the country ? in Zalau, Ploiesti, Bucharest and Calarasi; the governmental support was also important for the long-run success of business.
