Preparations for building five-star Intercontinental hotel

BELGRADE - A tender aimed at selecting a contractor for a new five-star hotel, Intercontinental Belgrade, is ready and we are just waiting to get a building permit for it, said Zivorad Vasic, director general of the hotel and commercial real estate investment and development company Delta Real Estate.

The investment is worth EUR 35-40 million, not including EUR 35 million that Delta Holding paid earlier for the land, Tanjug learnt from Vasic, who is also director of Crowne Plaza Belgrade.

The hotel will be built in New Belgrade. It will have 220 rooms, around 40 square meters each, a spa center, a big banquet hall and four smaller conference halls, Vasic said.

"Everything is ready for publishing the tender, we have signed the contract with Intercontinental Group, and now we are waiting on the City of Belgrade to issue the construction permit, and we have received assurances that this will happen soon," Vasic said.
