Vucic extends condolences to prime minister of Nepal
BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has sent a message of condolences to Sushil Koirala, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, after an earthquake in the country killed at least 1,500 people.
"On behalf of the government and the people of the Republic of Serbia and on my own behalf, I extend to you my deepest condolences over the tragic loss of life in the catastrophic earthquake that has hit your country," Vucic said.
"Finding the right words of consolation for the families of those killed is not easy in difficult moments such as this. The Republic of Nepal and your citizens can always count on the sincere and friendly support of the Republic of Serbia," Vucic said.
A devastating earthquake measuring 7.9 degrees on the Richter scale hit Nepal on Saturday. According to the latest figures, at least 1.500 people lost their lives. Most roads in Kathmandu are destroyed and the material damage is enormous.
