Nikolic receives credentials from five new ambassadors

BELGRADE -- President Tomislav Nikolic received on Monday the letters of credence from the newly appointed ambassadors of Bangladesh, Uruguay, Malta, Jamaica and Laos.

They serve as non-resident ambassadors to Serbia.

The presentation of credentials at the Palace of Serbia was attended by the ambassadors of Bangladesh Mohammad Shahdat Hossain, Uruguay Manuel Gonzalo Vieira Merola, Malta Peter Toledo, Jamaica Margaret Jobson and Laos Phoukkao Phommavongsa.

The strategic goal of Serbia is to join the European Union, but the country intends to maintain and develop good relations with all countries in the world with the same enthusiasm, President Nikolic said addressing the ambassadors.

"Serbia is committed to being a reliable and sincere partner to your countries, and to strengthening bilateral ties in all areas," Nikolic stressed, voicing belief that the friendship forged long ago between our countries and nations is a solid foundation for successful cooperation.
