Steinmeier: Special court for KLA crimes - good news
PRISTINA - Setting up of a new special tribunal to deal with allegations of war crimes committed by the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) is for the benefit of future generations in Kosovo, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said in Pristina.
Kosovo is doing good to history and future generations by clarifying issues related to this court. The special court is not bad news, but good one, Steinmeier told a press conference he held with Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa on Tuesday.
Mustafa, however, said he does not know when exactly the special court will be set up, but added the parliament will soon vote on the issue.
It is expected that a group of experts will arrive in Kosovo next week to discuss a law establishing the special court.
Once this process is finished, the parliament should vote, Mustafa said.
Kosovo Foreign Minister Hasim Taci said at a meeting with Steinmeier that the Kosovo government will not reopen any issue arranged in the Brussels agreement while he was the prime minister.
