Poll: 52 pct of Romanians say anticorruption, intelligence agencies should have free hand in investigations

More than half of the Romanians (52 pct) believe that the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) and the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) should have "free hand in investigations, even if some rights and liberties are questioned," according to an opinion barometer by Avangarde released on Friday.

To the question "In your opinion, should the DNA and the SRI have free hand in their investigations, even if some rights and liberties are questioned," 52 pct of the interviewed said "Yes", 28 pct said "No", and 20 pct said "I don't know/ I won't answer."

The Avangarde public research was carried over April 21 ? 29, on 950 persons aged 18 and over 18. The data collection method was face to face with the respondent, at their house. The selection of the household was "random route," and the respondents' selection was according to the criterion: "person who celebrates birthday closest to the beginning of the year."
