Executive Committee of Bulgarian Football Union Still to Decide on Revoked Licences
The Executive Committee of the Bulgarian Football Union (BFS) represents the last hope for CSKA Sofia and Lokomotiv Sofia to regain their licences for participation in the domestic A Group.
The licences of the two clubs for participation both in the domestic and the European tournaments were revoked due to outstanding debts to the National Revenue Agency (NAP) and other creditors.
The clubs appealed the decision of the Licensing Committee, but the Appeal Committee upheld the revocation on Monday.
According to the rules of procedure of BFS, all decisions of the Licensing and Appeal Committees have to be presented to the Executive Committee, which has to conclude the licensing process.
The meeting of the Executive Committee will be held after Bulgaria's EURO 2016 qualifier against Malta on June 12, but no concrete date has been announced yet.
The Executive Committee has the right to return the decisions on the revoked licences for review, daily Dnevnik reports.
Lokomotiv Sofia is still hoping that the club will regain its licence for participation for both the A Group and the European tournaments.
Although all deadlines for participation in the European tournaments have been missed, the club still holds some hopes of regaining its licence through appealing directly to UEFA.
