Wounded bear cub treated
A bear cub, which fell from rocks in a forest in the northern province of Karabük, is undergoing treatment.
Villagers, living in the Kayaarkas? village, had seen the bear cub having difficulty moving and informed the gendarmerie. The gendarmerie protected the cub, which was next to a railway, and waited for officials from the Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks.
A veterinary doctor also arrived at the scene and found that the five-month old bear cub's hind legs were wounded. Following first aid, the cub was delivered to the Çanakç?lar Zoo in the neighboring province of Zonguldak for treatment.
It has been reported that the animal will be sent back to the wild according to its health condition.
Another bear cub was found wounded in the forest in the central Anatolian province of Tokat, in the Re?adiye district. It was treated and left in the wild. It is determined that the cub was attacked by a dog.
