Cub

Save Ushko! The little brown bear cub needs your help

Greek bear conservation group Arcturos has launched a public appeal to gather funds to help treat a brown bear cub that was injured in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) last month. Ushko, the 5-month old male cub, in question is being treated at Arcturos’s Forina sanctuary in Northern Greece. The cub has a broken pelvis as it was possibly hit by a car.

Wounded bear cub treated

A bear cub, which fell from rocks in a forest in the northern province of Karabük, is undergoing treatment.

Villagers, living in the Kayaarkas? village, had seen the bear cub having difficulty moving and informed the gendarmerie. The gendarmerie protected the cub, which was next to a railway, and waited for officials from the Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks.
