Floating hotel concept allows guests to drift off in private catamaran…

Now this is certainly “thinking out of the box” and a model for viable and eco-friendly tourism that much of the international sector needs.

According to the Daily Mail, the “floating hotel” concept features “catamaran apartments” for guests to interact with nature without the negative effects of permanent construction.  will offer guests the perfect opportunity of an uninterrupted view of the nature around them.

The UK paper notes that the project was developed by the Salt & Water design studio, and aims to promote tourism on inland waters. In fact the plan recently won the Millennium Yacht Design Award, a noted global competition for pleasure craft designers.

Based on the concept, a central unit will allow guests to check in and interact with others. This central unit will be connected to a set of floating catamaran pods, accessed by a portable walkway.
