Mozart Festival to Begin in Bulgaria's Pravets

For the eleventh time, the international Mozart Music Festival is to take place on August 13-17 in Pravets, Northwestern Bulgaria.

It has now been some time since the Mozart Musical Festival was only dedicated to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his works.

Works by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel will also be played to mark several important anniversaries (such as 175 years since the birth of Tchaikovsky on August 14).

There will be an event on Friday that will also go beyond classical music to mark the day French singer Edith Piaff would have turned 100.

Exhibitions and dancing performances will also be part of the festival.

On Sunday a meeting for autographs will take place with world-renowned mezzosoprano Christina Anghelakova.

The full program is available here.

Tickets can be bought from the Eventim ticketing platform and at the RIU Pravets Resort Hotel, where most of the events will be held.
