The president of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation (BVF) Dancho Lazarov announced on Tuesday that the country's men national team will compete in Group 1 of the World League in 2016.
Bulgaria's participation in the top group became possible after the country was granted a wild card from the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

According to the new format, the top group will consist of twelve teams, while previously it comprised only eight participants.
Among the opponents of Bulgaria will be this year's holder of the World League France, the runner-up Serbia, the USA, Poland, Brazil, Italy, Russia and Iran.
