Two policemen injured in Turkey's east

Two Turkish policemen were injured in an attack on a police station in Turkey?s eastern Bingöl province by militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers? Party (PKK) late Aug. 25, security sources said.

An armored vehicle in front of the police station was also hit by rocket and long barreled weapons in the attack.
The injured policemen were taken to Bingöl State Hospital.

Provincial Police Chief Suleyman Pamuk told reporters after visiting the injured policemen in the hospital that their lives were out of danger.

An operation was launched in the area to nab the attackers.

Meanwhile, two people were killed in a minibus accident carrying village guards in the southeastern Sirvan province on the same night, while a policeman was killed in a car accident in the southeastern Mardin province on Aug. 26, sources added.
