One soldier killed, another injured in clash with PKK in Turkey's east

One soldier was killed and another was injured in an operation conducted against outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants at a rural area between the eastern province of Elazığ's Karakoçan district and the provincial border of eastern Bingöl on June 26, Doğan News Agency has reported.

Two soldiers severely injured during operation against PKK in Turkey's Bingöl

Two Turkish soldiers were gravely injured on June 13 during an operation against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the Genç district of the eastern province of Bingöl, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

The soldiers were transferred to the Bingöl State Hospital by helicopters.

Two policemen injured in Turkey's east

Two Turkish policemen were injured in an attack on a police station in Turkey?s eastern Bingöl province by militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers? Party (PKK) late Aug. 25, security sources said.

An armored vehicle in front of the police station was also hit by rocket and long barreled weapons in the attack.
The injured policemen were taken to Bingöl State Hospital.

Mine explosion kills one soldier in Turkey's east

One soldier was killed on Aug. 13 after stepping on a mine laid by outlawed Kurdistan Workers? Party (PKK) militants in the eastern province of Bingöl.

Clashes erupted in Bingöl?s Genç district between security forces and PKK militants, during which the soldier stepped on the mine. He was rushed to the Bingöl State Hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. 

Police chief wounded in gun attack in eastern Turkey

The head of the riot police department was wounded in a gun attack by an unknown assailant in the eastern province of Bingöl late Nov. 29.

The attacker on motorcycle opened fire on Ali İhsan Güngör while he was getting into his car following a visit to a village guard in Recep Tayyip Erdoğan neighborhood.
