Works by sculptor Floros at St. Peterburg’s Smolny Cathedral

Two new unique creations by noted Greek sculptor Nikos Floros will be exhibited at the imposing Smolny Cathedral in St. Petersburg next year, part of several events in 2015 commemorating the Year of Greek-Russian Friendship in both nations.
Floros’ two distinctive sculptured paintings commemorate the more divinely inspired period of 16th century master El Greco (Domenikos Theotokopoulos), and come on the 400-year anniversary of the death of Theotokopoulos in Toledo.
The mosaics that will be on display are of monumental proportions, comprised of more than 10,000 aluminium pieces.
Currently, Floros’ works are on display at a major exhibition at the Palace of the Grand Master on the island of Rhodes, until Oct. 5.
