Night Plovdiv Featuring over 100 Events on September 11-12

Alongside traditional events, this year's edition of Night Plovdiv also includes a program for kids.

With the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv set to become European Capital of Culture in 2019, its annual night of culture is also growing into a bigger and bigger festival every year.

On September 11 and 12, art, music, opera and even archaeology will be part of more than 100 events in over than 70 locations around the city.

Information about most of these events is available on Night Plovdiv's website.

The archaeology and history museums have prepared their own programs.

All museums are offering free entry for the festival. There will be organized Night tours, starting from the Green info point near the City Art Gallery Plovdiv, to help visitors get familiar with Plovdiv and select their own cultural options.

For those who are willing to attend but are unsure how to leave kids at home or just want to spend some time out with them, a special program for children, called The Little Night, is also offered this Friday and Saturday.

A "special Curatorial program which presents the projects of Bulgarian and foreign curators specially invited to realize a contemporary art project in the specific context of Night" is also included this year, the organizers say.

They have also promised that a mobile app will be available with real-time notifications, a list of preferred events and sharing options.

The year 2015 is the eleventh in a row that Plovdiv is holding its separate cultural night, a few months after taking part in the European Night of Museums with the rest of the country.
