Bulgaria celebrates 138 years since its Unification
Today marks 138 years since the declaration of independence of Eastern Rumelia from the Ottoman Empire and its union with the Principality of Bulgaria. In major cities throughout the country, the Bulgarian flag will be solemnly raised, military rituals will be performed and wreaths will be laid in memory of the dead.

Plovdiv to Host 56th National Archaeological Conference
As of May 29th, Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv hosts the 56th National Archaeological Conference. It will be held at the Regional Archaeological Museum in the city and will continue until May 31st, according to the Bulgarian National Television.
Night Plovdiv Featuring over 100 Events on September 11-12
With the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv set to become European Capital of Culture in 2019, its annual night of culture is also growing into a bigger and bigger festival every year.
On September 11 and 12, art, music, opera and even archaeology will be part of more than 100 events in over than 70 locations around the city.
