Zoe Konstantopoulou's witty, self-sarcastic TV spot (vid+pics)
Bellicose former president of the Greek parliament Zoe Konstantopoulou proves she has some sense of humour, as she employs self-sarcasm in her 40 sec. TV spot to get the message of Popular Unity party that the Greek debt is unserviceable and should not be paid. She is depicted waiting for a young panel beater worker, who is reading a volume of the “Parliamentary committee of truth about the debt”, set up by Zoe to examine the Greek debt. He is shown sitting down leaning against her mini-cooper, while she is standing over him with a smile explaining why the Greek debt is ‘odious, illegal and unviable’. The scene is a direct reference to her infamous outburst incident when she had demanded someone change her flat tire immediately at a petrol station in Aidipsos a few months ago. “Lies have speed, but the truth has duration”, she says at some point in allusion to her ex-comrade and leader of SYRIZA Alexis Tsipras.
