Outgoing Parliament prez Konstantopoulou airs charges of … high treason

 

Combative outgoing Parliament president Zoe Konstantopoulou is apparently leaving her post with a “bang”, days before she is replaced. The outspoken leftist lawmaker failed to get elected with the newly formed Popular Unity party in the Sept. 20 ballot.

Among others, he charged that her former comrade, Alexis Tsipras, and all those that signed a memorandum are culpable for “high treason”.

She also deflected criticism over the cost for a committee on the debt she created within the Parliament framework, saying it cost only 112,000 euros. Moreover, she said the conclusions of the handpicked committee members will be issued into a special edition.

Konstantopoulou has been amongst the most vocal proponents of the view that Greece’s state debt is illegal and onerous.
