Bus driver arrested following death of 12
The driver of a bus that rammed into a bus stop on a busy street in Ankara, killing 12 people, was arrested by a local court on Oct. 2.
E.A. was arrested following the accident in the capital's Dikimevi neighborhood.
The cause of the accident has yet to be determined although unions and professional organizations have previously questioned safety standards and the workload of bus drivers in Turkey's larger cities.
The public bus rammed into people waiting at the bus stop near the central Dikimevi metro station. The bus, which also struck several parked cars, finally came to a stop after 60 meters.
Meanwhile, Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy Aylin Nazl?aka issued a parliamentary question about the incident for Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu to answer.
