Foreign diplomats present their images of Greece

The photo exhibition, titled “Greece through the diplomats’ lens”, is currently featured at the “Melina Mercouri” Athens Cultural Center. Around 70 photos of Greece as seen through the eyes of foreign diplomats in Greece is presented in a display that showcases Greek antiquities, inviting Greek islands surrounded by the blue of the sea and sky.

The display was set up following the initiative of the Latvian and Iraqi ambassadors to Greece who enjoy photography as a hobby. The idea caught on as other diplomats were invited to participate, resulting in the cooperation of the seven embassies of Belgium, Croatia, Iraq, Lebanon, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Russia.

Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Mardas inaugurated the exhibition, noting “we are getting ready for something, allow me not to reveal it yet, in order for this exhibition to become a permanent event.”

The exhibition will run through to October 11.
