The latest wave of refugees in Greece’s neverending story

Another 2,499 refugees arrived aboard the “Eleftherios Venizelos” at the port of Piraeus early on Wednesday. A little later, the “Ariadni” ferry carrying 1,541 passengers arrived, along with a “tera jet” with another 1,703 refugees.

The Greek Coast Guard has rescued at least 303 refugees over the last 24 hours in the sea region of Lesvos, Chios, Samos, Agathonissi and Kos.
