Russian tourist stabbed in Istanbul

A Russian tourist has been stabbed and hospitalized in Istanbul's touristic Beyo?lu district after fighting a group of people for an unknown reason. 

The 27-year-old tourist, who could not immediately be identified, arrived in Istanbul ahead of a UEFA Europa League football match to support his team, Lokomotiv Moscow, against Be?ikta?. 

However, the man, alongside an unidentified friend of his, became embroiled in a fight with a group of people in Beyo?lu's Taksim neighborhood. 

The tourist was stabbed in the leg and head during the quarrel. 

While the assailants fled the scene, the injured tourist was brought to Haseki Training and Research Hospital. 

The man was soon discharged from hospital, while there were no reports on the whereabouts of the attackers.
