Gastronomes to gather at Istanbul festival
The first ever gastronomy conference targeting professionals in Turkey, the National Gastromasa Conference, will be held on Nov. 14 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Istanbul's ?i?li district.
At the event, in which 35 companies will participate, two Michelin-starred Spanish chef Sergi Arola, who specializes in Modernist Spanish Cuisine, will be among the leading lights. The first woman chef ever awarded four Gault-Millau, Johanna Maier, will also take part, along with other influential names in the field including trend-hunter Maria Canabal, food writer and trained chef Luciana Bianchi, and Spanish pastry chef Christian Escriba.
The First National Gastromasa Conference aims to help Turkey realize its full potential as an investment destination for internationally renowned chefs. With the participation of many local and foreign investors and chefs, the conference aims to deepen the gastronomic sector's contribution to Turkey's tourism sector.
Turkey's 20 leading chefs will also share the innovative recipes they prepared specifically for the conference in the "Innovative Turkish Chefs" section. The chefs will change their applications using local products for the new Turkish cuisine.
Sponsored by Pa?abahçe and organized by Gökmen Sözen Organization Services, the conference will focus on "how to integrate Turkish cuisine into international cuisine" and "what changes there will be to Turkish dishes."
