A strong Lodos wind in Istanbul caused a number of cancelations in flights and ferries in Istanbul on Jan. 12.

Turkish Airlines announced the cancelation of 63 flights on Jan. 12 and Jan. 13 due to the expected strong southwesterly Lodos wind at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport.

The carrier had already canceled 37 flights on Jan. 11 due to the Lodos, bringing the total number of canceled flights to 100 over the past three days.

The Lodos has also affected the city's maritime traffic. Istanbul's Fast Ferry and Sea Bus Company (IDO) announced the cancelation of all its inter-city services due to the conditions, while Bursa's BUDO also canceled many trips to and from Istanbul.
