Search for missing kids in 22nd day
Despite all search efforts and almost 200 interrogations, there was still no clue on Jan. 19 about the whereabouts two children who went missing 22 days ago in the Re?adiye district of northern Tokat province.
A four-person special task force was helping the local police in the ongoing efforts to find eight-year-old Bayram Erol and five-year-old Dursun Ka?an Ta?ç?, who were last seen on security camera footage which showed them walking by a playground near their houses.
The police have so far interrogated 180 people, including relatives and neighbors of the missing children. A number of houses which belonged to former convicts in the area were raided as part of the search. However, the teams were unable to find any clues about what happened to the children.
Meanwhile, Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) teams continued on Jan. 19 their search in a 25-kilometer-wide area, including Kelkit creek, but the search was cut short due to heavy snow.
