Police dispersed a crowd tMarch 5 hat gathered in front of the Zaman media group, control of which was taken over by a board of trustees late on March 4, following an Istanbul court decision.

Police used tear gas to disperse the supporters of the group  linked to U.S.-based Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen before the protesters ran to the side streets.

The trustees had entered the headquarters of Feza Gazatecilik Media group - which  includes Turkish Cihan News Agency, Today's Zaman and Zaman dailies, Aksiyon magazine along with Zaman Kitap - under police supervision. The police had intervened in a group that gathered in front of the building on March 5.

Gülen is accused by leading figures from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an and lawmakers from his inner circle of forming and heading a terrorist organization to topple the Turkish government, with the U.S.-based cleric's alleged followers working as insiders in the police and other state institutions.
