14 new hotspots to be ready until Sunday

The number of refugees and immigrants trapped in Greece has reached 33,320, according to the Greek government, while Hellenic Red Cross talked about 50,000 people, European Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos estimated that 100,000 people will be in Greece until the end of March and Alternate Minister Yannis Mouzalas warned of a large number of refugees and immigrants.

The Coordinating Centre for the Management of Migration released on Sunday data concerning the number of refugees and immigrants all over Greece and announced that until Sunday 14 new hotspots will be ready, while another hotspot, at Litochoro, is expected to be ready after March, 15.

The new hotspots will be able to host 17,400 people, while up to now the current infrastructure can serve only half of the immigrants and refugees.
On Sunday, only 239 people were allowed to enter FYROM, while 770 refugees arrived in Lesvos and Chios islands.

The new reception centers will be ready within the week with a total capacity of 17,400 people. Four of them will be located in Attica region, and 11 will be constructed at Drama, Thermopylae, Epirus, Thessalia, Litochoro.
