Three injured in sound bomb explosion in Istanbul
Three people were injured on April 9 when a sound bomb exploded in Istanbul's busy Mecidiyeköy neighborhood.
The bomb, which was placed under an overpass near the Mecidiyeköy metrobus station, exploded at around 8:45 p.m. Three people were slightly injured in the explosion and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
A number of security forces supported by a police helicopter and health personnel were quickly deployed to the scene.
An investigation has been launched into the incident to apprehend the suspects responsible for the explosion.
Meanwhile, a second sound bomb exploded in a solid waste transfer station in the city's ?i?li district at around 11 p.m. The explosion occurred while a truck was emptying out waste material at the station. No injuries were reported in the incident.
A police investigation into the incident was ongoing.
