RS Police to deploy 2,000 to ensure security in Banja Luka
BANJA LUKA - Tensions over the possibility of riots in the streets of Banja Luka, Republika Srpska (RS), during two rival protests, one called by the opposition and the other by the ruling party, on Saturday, are mounting, and the police announced securing the events with at least 2,000 police officers.
The opposition are not giving up on staging a protest against the government, who they claim is responssible for crime and corruption, high unemployment rate and violation of workers' rights.
Leader of the opposition Serb Democratic Party (SDS) in Republika Srpska Mladen Bosic told a Tanjug reporter that giving up the protest would mean giving up on the basic human rights of expressing one's opinion and public assembly.
