Four soldiers killed in PKK attack in Turkey's Mardin

Four soldiers were killed and six others were injured on Sept. 26 in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attack in the Derik district of the southeastern province of Mardin, Doğan News Agency has reported.

PKK militants remotely detonated an explosive placed on the Kızıltepe-Derik motorway during the passing of a civilian-plated minibus carrying soldiers at around 9:20 a.m. near Tepedağ village.

Four soldiers were killed and another six were wounded in the attack, according to initial reports. 

The wounded soldiers were transferred to hospitals in Derik and Kızıltepe.

An operation was launched in the region to apprehend the PKK militants responsible for the attack.
