Turkish Authorities Forbid Topic of Christmas at German School

Turkish authorities have forbidden for the first time the topic of Christmas in classes at a German school in the capital Istanbul, reported Die Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

The school authorities have ordered that "nothing that is in the spirit of Christmas traditions and the Christian holiday should be announced, prepared or carried out in the class rooms from now on," read a statement sent to the media.

The edition reminds readers that 35 German teachers, whose salaries are paid by the federal budget, work in the school.
