Brajovic to focus on media strategy issues

BELGRADE - The newly-appointed state secretary for information and media at the Ministry of Culture and Information, Nino Brajovic, announced Wednesday he would dedicate himself to issues related to the media strategy, including solving the status of the Tanjug news agency and the Politika daily, as well as funding for local media.

The state-owned Tanjug agency has remained unprivatised, it is in the process of being shut down, but it still exists - that is an issue that must be resolved "as soon as possible," Brajovic told the RTS.

Culture and Information Minister Vladan Vukosavljevic believes a public-private partnership would be a good solution, Brajovic said.

Politika's status is also significant, he said.
