Djurovic: We have thwarted Kosovo's attempt to join CoE
BELGRADE - Serbia has achieved an incredible success by thwarting Kosovo's back-door attempt to join the Council of Europe (CoE) but, unfortunately, the fight for our national interests does not end there, says Aleksandra Djurovic, who heads the Serbian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
The standing delegation of the Serbian parliament has prevented the passage of a memorandum envisioning seats for representatives of the Kosovo assembly in the PACE plenary hall in Strasbourg and allowing them to take part in discussions and put forward and sign proposed resolutions, Djurovic told Politika in an interview.
Unfortunately, the fight "does not end there as they have obliged (PACE President Pedro) Agramunt to organise a meeting between our delegation and Pristina's delegation to find a compromise solution," Djurovic said.
