Stojanovic stuns world number 28 Babos in Shenzhen

SHENZHEN - Young Serbian female tennis player Nina Stojanovic has caused a major upset at the Shenzhen WTA tournament by defeating world number 28 Timea Babos of Hungary 1-6, 7-5, 6-2 Monday to reach the last sixteen stage.

Stojanovic won after slightly over two hours of play and will next face Ons Jabeur of Tunisia.

Stojanovic is the only remaining Serbian player at the 626,750 dollar tournament after Jelena Jankovic lost 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 to Romania's Simona Halep earlier in the day.
