Romania's Halep to play Australia's Cabrera in 2021 Australian Open first round
Romanian tennis player Simona Halep will play Australian Lizette Cabrera in the first round of the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, which will start on Monday in Melbourne, according to the draw on Friday. 2020 semi-finalist Halep, 29, will meet for the first time wildcard Cabrera, 23, world number 140.
Australia beat Serbia in Fed Cup clash
ZRENJANIN - The Serbia women's national tennis team has failed to qualify for the Fed Cup World Group II after losing 4-0 to Australia in the play-offs at the weekend.
Daria Gavrilova beat Nina Stojanovic 6-0, 6-3 at Zrenjanin's Crystal Hall on Sunday to win the decisive third point for Australia.

Serbia beat Bulgaria in Fed Cup, to face Israel
TALLINN - Serbia beat Bulgaria 2-0 in Thursday's Round 2, Group D tie of the Euro/African Zone Group I.
Ivana Jorovic defeated Viktoriya Tomova 6-1, 6-1 and Nina Stojanovic beat Isabella Shinikova 6-2, 6-2 to win the encounter for Serbia, who will face Israel on Friday in a bid to secure a play-off berth.

Serbia knock Estonia out of FED Cup
TALLINN - Serbia defeated Estonia 2-1 in Round 1 of the Euro/African Zone Group I of the Fed Cup on Wednesday.
Serbia won after over two hours of play in the doubles match, in which Ivana Jorovic and Nina Stojanovic overcame Anett Kontaveit and Maileen Nuudi 6-4, 1-6, 7-5.

Stojanovic comes from behind to advance to Shenzhen quarters
SHENZHEN - Young Serbian tennis player Nina Stojanovic beat Tunisian Ons Jabeur 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 on Wednesday to reach the quarter-finals of the WTA tournament in Shenzhen, China.
Stojanovic, a qualifier who has made it to the main draw, came from behind to win after two hours and twenty minutes of play.
Stojanovic stuns world number 28 Babos in Shenzhen
SHENZHEN - Young Serbian female tennis player Nina Stojanovic has caused a major upset at the Shenzhen WTA tournament by defeating world number 28 Timea Babos of Hungary 1-6, 7-5, 6-2 Monday to reach the last sixteen stage.
Stojanovic won after slightly over two hours of play and will next face Ons Jabeur of Tunisia.

Fed Cup: Canada beat Serbia 3-1
MONTREAL - Serbia's Fed Cup team failed to reach the World Group playoffs after losing to Canada 3-1 in Montreal on Sunday in a World Group II first round tie.
Eugenie Bouchard won the decisive point for Canada by beating Vesna Dolonc 6-0, 6-3.
