Serbia celebrates Victory Day

The Serbian Army is today presenting some of its capabilities and new weapons, as part of celebrations to mark Army Day, and Victory Day over fascism in WW2.

The central event, the Steel 2017 exercise announced last week, is being held in the military ranges Nikinci, northwest of Belgrade.

The public will be able to see a new rifle, the guided missile system ALAS, combat armored vehicles Milos and Lazar, and other armaments.

In attendance are President Tomislav Nikolic, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, Defense Minister Zoran Djordjevic, Serbian Army chief Gen. Ljubisa Dikovic, members of the Serbian government, and Serb Republic (RS) President and Prime Minister Milorad Dodik and Zeljka Cvijanovic.

According to announcements, military and diplomatic representatives and guests from abroad are also present.
